Counter Sales Associate

The Counter Sales Associate is a highly motivated individual who provides excellent customer service and support to Caniff Electric customers. Individuals in this position interface with customers daily, relaying accurate information on products, pricing, and stock availability. This front-line sales role acts as a liaison and customer advocate, providing excellent communication. As an extension of the inside sales effort, the Counter Sales representative is responsible to build and maintain business relationships with customers and prospects. This is accomplished through exceptional service, accuracy, sense of urgency and practical knowledge of the electrical industry and products we sell.

Job Responsibilities-

• Customer Service
• Greeting customers within 30 seconds of entry
• Communication Skills put in use openly and effectively communicating to our external customers as well internal employees
• Relationship Building with the ability of forming long lasting relationships with both external customers and internal employees
• Answering customer phone calls for sales and general inquiries
• Salesmanship
• Product/Industry knowledge with the ability to maintain and grow with product and industry knowledge.
• Provide customer solutions and troubleshooting by assessing and diagnosing customer needs
• Goal Oriented/Driven personality which will accompany our success by achieving personal development tasks as well as sales goals
• Inventory Management
• Accurately pulling, checking, and staging parts/products.
• Identifying inventory errors and discrepancies and bringing management to their attention as well as assisting to correct and prevent them.
• Assuring transactional accuracy at point of sale
• Operations
• General upkeep and cleaning
• General warehouse duties including but not limited to stock put-away, organization
• Cutting wire
• Customer returns and product cycle counts
• Receiving and posting of inventory, including hilo usage and data entry
• Back-up delivery driver

Qualifications-

• Customer service experience
• High School Diploma, GED or military equivalent
• People oriented -- enjoys interacting with people and working on group projects
• Problem solver -- identifies creative solutions to correct issues
• High stress tolerance -- able to multi-task and work under pressure
• Physical activity including but not limited to being on feet for 6-8 hours per shift, standing, walking, typing/computer usage, ladder usage, bending, kneeling and lifting 50+ pounds intermittently
• Availability from 6am - 5pm; occasional Saturday. Typical schedule falls between 7-5 Monday through Friday with an 8 hour shift and 1 hour lunch, overtime as needed
• Reliable transportation
• Previous industry experience and/or sales experience is a plus

Compensation-

• Starting pay of $19-21/hr.
• Quarterly commission/bonus structure
• Profit sharing
